Our independent living communities provide the environments for Residents to participate in exciting social events and outings, restaurant-quality dining, and new and long term friendships all within comfortably appointed buildings. And, if at any time you would like additional services in your home, such as housekeeping or health care, we are here and happy to help.
Walker Methodist independent living is ideal for older adults who require little to no assistance with activities or tasks associated with daily living. The key difference between independent living and other housing options is the level of assistance offered. Some refer to independent living communities as retirement communities, active adult living, or 55+ communities – however you refer to our communities, the purpose is the same: to make the day-to-day lives of seniors easier.

Plaza’s Bright Future – Expanding in Anoka
Walker Methodist senior living communities offer many levels of care, services, amenities, and most importantly – richness of life. It’s this dedication to life’s richness and living it the most fully that prompted us to expand upon our Plaza community in Anoka. Currently underway is the construction of Walker Methodist Plaza Gardens, an adjoining community that will be connected to Plaza Cityview via skyway. The new community will provide:
- 26 memory care suites
- 42 assisted living suites
- 5 enhanced care suites
The expansion will feature upgraded community spaces, dining rooms, a bistro, library & fireplace lounge, and many spaces to enjoy all of life’s special moments. We’ve taken great pride in providing beautiful spaces for older adults to call home in Anoka since 1990. Plaza is home to some very special Residents, and is staffed with compassionate Caregivers. This Walker Methodist retirement community is an integral part of the Anoka community and we are blessed to be able to continue our Mission: Life. And all the living that goes with it.
