The Parkinson’s Specialty Care mission is to enhance the quality of life for people living with Parkinson’s Disease and other movement disorders in a comfortable environment that promotes respect, dignity and the highest quality of care.

We truly believe that every individual has a voice, and that all clients, regardless of functioning level or cognitive ability, deserve compassionate, quality care that exceeds expectations.

Model of Care

Our continuing relationship with Struthers offers a wonderful opportunity to develop a unique residence and program that addresses the overall wellness and quality of life for each resident. In addition our ongoing Parkinsons specific education program is what truly sets us apart from other residential assisted living providers.

Our education and training curriculum includes but is not limited to the following:

1. Home Health Aide Core training program
2. TULIPS testing (Time Understanding Quality of Life, Increased Awareness, Pills on Time, Support)
3. Continuing Nurses training on a monthly basis
4. Quarterly Home Health Aide CEU training specific to Parkinson’s and movement disorders
5. Home Health Aide Competency training
6. Ongoing nursing annual training specific to Parkinson’s and movement disorders

Location

Conveniently located in a quiet neighborhood of Bloomington, just east of 35W and 106^th St., this beautiful house is home for six of our residents.

Residents enjoy chats around the dining room table, taking part in baking projects in the kitchen and spending warm summer evenings grilling on the deck which overlooks a huge back yard lined with apple trees. All bedrooms are private rooms with basic cable T.V. and internet access included.
