We believe aging can be a rich and rewarding phase of human development. By creating holistic and therapeutic living environments we are able to fulfill this belief. Each residential care home is built to look, feel and resemble the homes of our residents. Each home has a hearth which includes an open kitchen and a large table around which meals are shared between friends and family. Because the hearth is the center of the design, each resident’s room opens onto this space. There are no long corridors and no institutional designs. Ultimately our homes are a sanctuary to care for our beloved elders who may be experiencing progressive life limiting conditions and/or dementia.

Mendakota Manor, an elegant estate, is located in the Friendly Hills Neighborhood of Mendota Heights. This beautiful residential care home is tucked into a large wooded lot where residents can enjoy daily visits from wild turkey, deer and an assortment of birds. In adherence to our commitment to reducing our environmental impact on future generations, Mendakota Manor was constructed as a “green” residential care home. Some of the “green” features include low-VOC paints, anti-microbial carpets, geo-thermal heating/cooling and natural solar tube lighting. Mendakota Manor is home to seven (7) older adults who require twenty four hour (24/7) assistance with activities of daily living. Our specially trained staff of registered nurses and certified nursing assistants adhere to our aging in place philosophy by providing more intensive services as needs progress.

Many seniors facing life limiting conditions are constantly dealing with changes in themselves and their world, and we feel that it is important to help them maintain links to the past and to “things” that are familiar. By creating a house with rooms and furnishings the same as “home” we are able to create a therapeutic environment for residents, family and staff to truly enjoy.

Mendakota Manor has a total of six (6) care suites (5 private suites / 1 couple’s suite) complete with private bathrooms and beautiful views of the outdoors. The six (6) care suites open into the hearth of the home where they are greeted with fresh aromas from the kitchen and friendly smiles from the staff. The common areas include a private lounge, dining area, great room, gourmet kitchen and a sun-soaked porch; reminiscent of a more traditional Saint Paul home. Each private suite features a private handicap accessible bathroom, in-floor heat and beautiful outdoor views.

Mendakota Manor boasts an expansive half acre yard complete with lush gardens, barbecuing areas, a large front patio and a deck overlooking the woods. A good portion of spring, summer and fall are spent outside enjoying the sights, smells and noises of Minnesota in bloom. We warmly welcome you and your family to your new home, Mendakota Manor.
