Certified and certified-eligible professional fitness instructors establish goals with residents and monitor progress with a quarterly report. Participants report improved strength, balance, sleep and mood.

Each floor plan is designed for your comfort and convenience in activities of daily living. There is peace of mind knowing that your utilities, transportation to scheduled activities, light housekeeping and care attendant on duty 24-hours-a-day — are all included in the monthly fee for any apartment you choose.

Deer Crest is proud to offer state-of-the-art technologies by Healthsense® to maintain health as much as possible. These technologies include real-time remote monitoring that can alert staff of a change in a resident’s health routines and flag inactivity which could require attention. This allows us to take action to avoid a future health issues and extend the ability to maintain residence here at Deer Crest. We’ve expanded our services. Our nurses are now onsite 12 hours each day with a Registered Nurse on call 24/7.

Independent Living

People who wish to live on their own often describe themselves as living independently. This can broadly describe a lifestyle of living in an apartment, condominium or cooperative building with the needs of adults age 55 and older in mind — wider doorways and other adapted-design features. Government definitions of words such as “independent” are more specific, so be sure to ask for clarification if you need it.

Some properties require a minimum age of residents at 62. The site may or may not have a leisure program. Generally the property has an onsite caretaker, but no medical staff such as a nurse. These communities are designed to provide options that create a lifestyle of convenience and offer interaction with other residents that helps avoid isolation. They also tend to have amenities such as an underground parking garage, services such as a beautician/barber and a convenience store or gift shop.

You can contract services for yourself that make it possible to age in place without the need to move as your assistance needs grow. As part of our commitment to keep our residents healthy, Ebenezer works with Fairview Healthcare Services. Fairview home care nurses, physical therapists and social workers are assigned to Ebenezer communities to facilitate resident healthcare services available through the system that may be needed. Healthcare services include:

  • Skilled nursing services (such as IV therapy and wound care)
  • Unskilled nursing services (such as chronic care nursing, assistance with daily living activities)
  • Physical therapy
  • Senior companions
  • Fairview Lifeline or other emergency call response system
  • Telemonitoring and medication management

Assisted Living

Seniors who are at least 55* years old. At Ebenezer a basic service package is included in monthly rent and additional care services can be added as needed. Assisted living is suited to people who do not require advanced, full-time medical assistance. It is usually less expensive than skilled nursing in a care center. Ebenezer sites have a nurse on duty during business hours. Night hours are covered by nurse attendants.

Deer Crest offers activities at their location for residents. These activities generally allow residents to maintain healthy lifestyles by encouraging movement and socializing with their peers. Being able to chat with other residents becomes an important part of many peoples’ lives and Deer Crest offers common spaces indoors to support that need. The benefit of living in an assisted living community is that making meals can be costly and time consuming process so Deer Crest provides meals for residents.

Staff is awake and available 24 hours a day so if any emergencies occur no matter the time, there will be someone ready to help. Making sure residents with diabetes monitor their insulin levels is clearly an important task and Deer Crest can help with that task. If a resident needs assistance moving from a bed to a wheelchair, this facility has staff who can help.

Memory Care

MEMORY CARE is the most appropriate choice for individuals who…

• have been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease or another form of dementia.
• are cognitively impaired to the point where they no longer are able to care for themselves, or their safety and   well-being is being compromised.

For those with cognitive impairment, including Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia, memory care communities offer a secure and safe setting staffed by specially-trained professionals who provide supervised care to residents and guide them through activities suited to their specific needs.

The physical surroundings of memory care communities, including the corridors and outdoor walkways, are designed to prevent wandering and to make navigation easier so residents avoid feeling lost or confused. Since dementia is a progressive disease, the ability to adapt to the individual’s changing cognitive skills is a key attribute of a memory care unit.
