Lakeville is a city in Dakota County, Minnesota, United States. It is a suburb of Minneapolis-Saint Paul, approximately 20 miles (32 km) south of both downtown Minneapolis and downtown St. Paul. Mahtomedi is a city in Washington County, Minnesota, United States. Mahtomedi is considered to be a suburb of St. Paul, and is located between St. Paul and Stillwater. Minnetonka is a suburban city in Hennepin County, Minnesota, United States, eight miles (13 km) west of Minneapolis. The name comes from the Dakota Sioux mni tanka, meaning “great water”. The city is the home of Cargill, the country’s largest privately owned company, and UnitedHealth Group, the state’s largest publicly owned company. Since the mid-19th century, Minnetonka has evolved from heavily wooded wilderness through extensive farming and thriving industrialization to its present primarily residential suburban character.
New Brighton is a city in Ramsey County, Minnesota, United States. It is a suburb of the Twin Cities. Located at the intersection of Interstate Highways 35W and 694. It is geographically incongruent. From north to south it is not even, and east to west it is even in only a few places. A piece of the city sits on the east side of Interstate 35W isolated from the rest of the city. North Oaks is a suburb 10 miles (16 km) north of Saint Paul in Ramsey County in the U.S. state of Minnesota. Formerly a gated community that now posts private access signage, all land is owned by homeowners with the North Oaks Home Owners Association maintaining all roads, plowing, parks, facilities, and recreation trails. Each homeowner’s property extends halfway into the street. There is also a city government with a Mayor and City Council that administers basic services such as fire, police, planning, and licensing. North Saint Paul is a city in Ramsey County, Minnesota, located east-northeast of the city of Saint Paul. North Saint Paul is a distinct city, and not a neighborhood of nearby Saint Paul. This fact also contributes to a major difference from typical suburbs; rather than being composed of new developments and urban sprawl, many of the structures in town are older, including a downtown area of brick storefronts. Oak Grove is a city in Anoka County, Minnesota, United States. It is north of Minneapolis. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 35.16 square miles (91.06 km2), of which, 33.85 square miles (87.67 km2) is land and 1.31 square miles (3.39 km2) is water. The population was 27,378 at the 2010 census. Oakdale is the 32nd largest city in Minnesota, in terms of population. Oakdale lies entirely within the North St. Paulâ€“Maplewoodâ€“Oakdale school district, but the city’s students are split into two high schools. Orono is a city on the north shore of Lake Minnetonka in Hennepin County, Minnesota, United States. The city was named after the Maine town of Orono on the suggestion of earlier residents. Ramsey is a suburb 22 miles (35km) NNW of downtown Minneapolis in Anoka County, Minnesota, United States.Â It is a northwest suburb of the Twin Cities. Rosemount is a city in Dakota County, Minnesota, United States, in the Twin Cities Metropolitan Area. Rosemount was established as a township in 1858 and incorporated as a city in 1972, encompassing the old village of Rosemount and Pine Bend. According to the city’s website, there was some debate over whether to name the township Saratoga or Rosemount, with the latter finally being chosen to reflect the town’s Irish heritage, and to remain in keeping with the name given to the post office a few years earlier.
